This guide will walk you through the simple steps to clear the cache in Chrome on your desktop and mobile devices, and how to perform a hard reload to ensure you see the latest version of any site.

How to Clear Cache in Chrome on Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)

  1. Open Google Chrome and click the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  2. Navigate to More tools > Clear browsing data....
  3. A new settings tab will open. At the top, click the dropdown menu for Time range and select All time.
  4. Ensure the checkbox for Cached images and files is ticked. You can uncheck "Browsing history" and "Cookies and other site data" if you prefer to keep them.
  5. Click the Clear data button.
